Christian music’s premier rock band Pillar announces its eighth national headline tour, the “days of THE RECKONING” tour, featuring Day of Fire, The Showdown and Decyfer Down. The tour promotes Pillar’s fourth highly-anticipated studio project, The Reckoning, releasing Oct. 3

Opening in Minneapolis on Oct. 26, the tour will visit more than 30 cities through mid-December. Among those major markets are Chicago, Cincinnati, Baltimore, Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix and Seattle. A complete tour itinerary follows this release.

“What better a way to debut music from the new record than live for our fans on a national tour,” says Rob Beckley, Pillar frontman. “And to be joined by such great acts as Day of Fire, The Showdown and Decyfer Down only adds to our excitement. It’s going to be the LOUDEST tour out this fall!”

According to Day of Fire lead singer Josh Brown, “We are really excited to be on the ‘days of THE RECKONING” tour with Pillar, The Showdown and Decyfer Down. These shows are going to be so much fun and full of rock and roll! This tour is going to allow us the opportunity to hang with a lot of people and show them some love. Thanks to Pillar for having us out, and we can’t wait to get started!”

Since the band’s Dove Award-winning 2001 debut Above, Flicker Records artist Pillar has seen unprecedented success in every aspect of its career. With seven No. 1 radio singles and twelve Top 5 hits to its credit, Pillar has earned an additional three Dove Awards, headlined seven national tours, performed for more than two million people, and been featured on the covers of Radio & Records, Rockline Magazine, CCM Magazine, 7ball Magazine, Breakaway Magazine, HM Magazine, and Christian Retailing. The band has also received print coverage in Rolling Stone, Spin, Bass Player, and Hit Parader. Pillar’s video “Bring Me Down” saw heavy rotation on the Fuse TV program “Rockzilla” and was voted No. 1 at Fuse TV’s “Oven Fresh.” The band additionally won Fuse TV’s Next Big Thing award. Most recently, Teen Mania tapped Pillar’s “Frontline” as the 18-month-long theme song for its “BattleCry” campaign with the organization filming an accompanying music video that aired at events in arenas nationwide. Pillar releases its fourth studio project, The Reckoning, Oct. 3. The album’s first radio single, “Everything,” currently reigns at No. 5 on R &R’s Christian Rock chart. Day of Fire released Cut & Move on June 6, 2006 (Essential Records), the band’s follow-up to their self-titled debut project which won a Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year at the 36th Annual Gospel Music Awards. Cut & Move was produced by Pete Thornton with lyrics penned by lead singer Josh Brown and music by the five-member band, collectively. According to Brown, “Cut & Move deals with cutting yourself away from the failures of yesterday, leaving behind the burdens of the past, and moving into the future.” Day of Fire has also received a GRAMMY nomination, played for more than 500,000 fans in the U.S. and Europe, and has been featured on both CNN and The 700 Club since the release of their first project (2004).
