AARON SHUST OFFERS CHRISTMAS GIFT OF FREE MUSIC 18 December 2006
Aaron Shust, Christian music’s most successful new artist, is giving fans the gift of free music this Christmas. Shust’s version of the Christmas hymn “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” is being offered as a free download via Shust’s website, www.AaronShust.com, and is quickly climbing the radio charts, receiving airplay across the country on both mainstream and Christian radio stations.
This original version of the familiar Christmas hymn follows Shust’s string of hit radio singles, including this year’s multi-format smash hit “My Savior, My God,” the second single from his debut project, Anything Worth Saying. “My Savior My God” reached #1 on five different radio charts and spent a remarkable 30 weeks—over half the 2006 calendar year—in the Top 5 of R&R’s AC chart.
Shust’s unprecedented radio success has resulted in retail sales of Anything Worth Saying reaching over 120,000 units in under 11 months. Digital download sales of “My Savior My God” have topped 75,000 copies with the song holding the #1 spot on the iTunes Christian and Gospel chart for over three months. Shust and his music has been covered in a variety of media outlets, including appearances on TBS’ Storyline, Focus on the Family’s Family News In Focus, and American Family Radio, as well as features and reviews in a variety of publications such as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, CCM Magazine, Christianity Today.com, Brio Online, CBN Online, Christian Music Planet, The Wichita Eagle, Worship Leader/Song Discovery, Aspiring Retail, Creative Loafing, and more.
Additionally, Aaron’s performance at the first-ever “Faith Days” with the Atlanta Braves was featured on national media outlets such as CBS Evening News, NBC Nightly News, and ESPN’s Outside The Lines.
“Offering this song as a free download is a very small way for me to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who has been so supportive of me and my music,” said Shust. “It’s been an amazing year in so many ways, and I’m very grateful for the response to these songs.”
For the last five years, Aaron Shust has served as a full-time staff member and worship leader at Perimeter Church, a progressive, 27-year-old congregation in Atlanta. Beyond that community, Aaron leads worship throughout the United States at new churches, adult retreats and youth camps, placing his songwriting fingers firmly on the pulse of the church’s devotion. Shust, who has toured extensively throughout 2006, recently completed the Fall leg of the “Dreaming True” Tour with Bebo Norman. Aaron is currently in the studio recording songs for his next project, set to be released in Spring 2007.
