|Venezuela: New Tribes Missionaries Leave Indigenous Lands

In Venezuela, a missions group has evacuated its workers from indigenous lands.
Florida-based New Tribes Missions has worked among tribal people in the Venezuelan jungle since 1946.
Last year President Hugo Chavez ordered them to leave those areas by February 12 th. He said the missionaries were part of an imperialist plot to harm the country.
Many tribal groups disagreed and publicly protested the order.
New Tribes Missions is appealing that order to Venezuela's Supreme Court.
