Robbie Seay Band Offers Better Days Beginning 30 August 2005
Robbie Seay Band, the Houston-based worship rock act with a well-established grassroots fan base, will release its national debut album, BETTER DAYS.
BETTER DAYS was produced by Jay Joyce (Audio Adrenaline, Nichole Nordeman), Will Hunt, and Robbie Seay Band with mixing done primarily by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Switchfoot). All eleven worship-focused songs were written or co-written by the band and have already got people talking.
"There is something more than music here, and only one in a million bands can get to this place," says acclaimed author Donald Miller ("Blue Like Jazz"). "Robbie Seay Band validates the beauty of the material universe by hinting at the mystery beneath it."
"When I first heard Robbie's music, what immediately stood out was his amazingly unique and soulful voice," says Sparrow Records Vice President of A&R, Brad O'Donnell. "As I kept listening, though, I was affected by what he was saying and the way his lyrics dealt with real life, how the divine appears in the most common situations. I was drawn to his perspective on the world, on relationships and on God."
Robbie Seay Band is comprised of Dan Hamilton, Ryan Owens, Chase Jenkins, and Robbie Seay. The group leads worship at Ecclesia, a downtown community of faith that includes a full-time coffee bar and Hyde Park Studio, where part of BETTER DAYS was recorded. The project's first single, "Faith Of Our Fathers, " is now playing at Christian pop and rock radio stations and is also the theme of an upcoming book written by Seay due for release this fall.
"This is a song written out of the realization that my faith was very small and very 21st century-focused," Seay says. "We are not alone. Faith did not just show up yesterday. Here's to all who've gone before, all who will go ahead-the men and women of faith."
This fall, Robbie Seay Band joins David Crowder*Band on its 30-city countrywide Collision Tour along with Shane & Shane. Stops include New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Orlando, among others. For complete concert listings and more details on BETTER DAYS, check out RobbieSeayBand.com.
