“I Will Lift My Eyes,” ended up being one of my favorite moments on the record,
The songs that start for me from a place of prayer, are kind of my own little personal private worship moments. And it’s strange always to put those songs onto a CD or play those songs in front of live audiences, and take a private moment and share that, because it can, it can be kind of frightening
That song ended up just being a really personal prayer, at a time where, again, I’m just struggling with how do you make sense of this world as a believer? And just beginning to cry out to who God is in the middle of that world, and begin to see him even in that. And that sums up, really, what the song is about, but probably also sums up why it ends up being one of my favorite moments.
